A year ago, I was at the North Cornwall Book Festival from where a BBC Countryfile programme was being filmed.  The poet Chrissie Gittins was running a workshop for local schoolchildren, exploring the world of words and the words of nature, and I was being interviewed too.

I had been campaigning against the decision by the publishers of the Oxford Junior Dictionary’s to reduce the number of nature words it contained by nearly 100.  Chrissie had written Adder, Bluebell, Lobster, a collection of children’s poems, each celebrating one of the ‘lost’ words.

Now this weekend I’m back there with a session of my own, presenting my book The Long Spring on Sunday at 4.30pm – tickets still available here!
